FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina’s presidential primaries are almost here with the republicans on February 20th and the democrats on the 27th.
The candidates have already hit the state; however Francis Marion University will host two campaigns this week.
On Thursday, republican candidate John Kasich will stop through for a town hall, which starts about 5 p.m. at the Frank B. Lee Nursing building.
Then on Saturday, Bill Clinton, former President and husband of democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, will be on campus at the university center. School officials say this is not the first time over the years candidates have come to FMU to campaign.
From the university’s perspective, they say it’s a great opportunity for them to play a role in the upcoming election with South Carolina being a key state.
