Francis Marion University will celebrate its 2015 Homecoming on Saturday, Feb. 21, with additional events scheduled throughout the week leading up to the big day.

Saturday’s Homecoming festivities begin at 11 a.m. with alumni basketball games in the Smith University Center gymnasium.

A Homecoming parade through campus is scheduled for 11:45 a.m.

PatriotFest will begin at 12:15 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Smith University Center featuring live music and entertainment.

A basketball game doubleheader against USC Aiken begins at 1:30 p.m. The FMU women’s team kicks off the two-game set at 1:30.

The men follow at 3:30 p.m. Admission to the Homecoming doubleheader is, as usual, free.

A Hall of Fame induction ceremony for former Patriot athletes Kirk Bevington, men’s soccer defender, and baseball pitcher Erin Jones, will be held between the men’s and women’s games.

The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned following the men’s game.

The baseball team takes on Armstrong State University at 3 p.m. and men’s and women’s tennis teams square off against Lander University at 1:30 p.m.

The FMU Athletic Department will sponsor the 16th-annual Swamp Fox Club Benefit Silent Auction, featuring sports memorabilia and merchandise, beginning at 1 p.m. in the Smith University Center gymnasium.

All proceeds from the auction will support Patriot athletics. Also on Saturday, the Patriot Bookstore in the Smith University Center will offer special Homecoming sales.
