FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Countless fans across the Pametto State are getting ready for the College Football National Championship game tonight with Clemson facing Alabama.

Clemson fans were out in Florence Monday grabbing last minute items for the game. Still, no one prepares quite like the self-proclaimed “Clemson fanatic,” Mr. Charles Nelson.

Nelson teaches at West Florence High School, but more people know him as Florence’s biggest Clemson fan.

“A lot of people will recognize me and say ‘oh, you’re the guy that drives the Montero around town that has a paw on it,’” said Nelson.

Paw prints fill his car and his classroom, but it doesn’t stop there.

“We have a big rivalry between me and my neighbor. That started when we moved in the house we’re in now,” said Nelson.

The number one Clemson fan has flags and paw prints that fill his front yard, but his newest addition is his new front door, that of course, is painted orange.

“I think it came out really good, and I mean, it looks really good with the house. I don’t think we’ll change it back. I think we’ll leave that door orange no matter what,” said Nelson.

Nelson says the Clemson pride is in his blood, and he’s hoping his Clemson spirit will help pull his Tigers through for the championship.

“If they win, I’ll be a little more orange. I might pull out my orange pants and orange shoes tomorrow because I have both,” laughed Nelson.
