A woman has been arrested and charged in a deadly hit-and-run accident that killed two people riding on a moped.
Lauren Alexis Green turned herself into the Florence Police Department on Monday, according to the FPD. Green faces two charges of leaving the scene resulting in death. She was taken to the Florence County Detention Center.
According to Lt. Mike Brandt, the crash happened at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday on Lucas Street near Ogden Streat. Two people who were riding the moped were killed in the crash.
The Florence County coroner said Terod Tyrice Williams, 38, and Edward Lawrence Beck, 50, died in the crash. Both were from Florence.
Officers were able to locate a silver Chevy Malibu involved in the crash and identified Green as the driver, the release also said.
The crash remains under investigation by the FPD and the Florence County Coroner’s Office.
