Florence Rotary makes large donation to Alzheimer’s Association

FLORENCE, SC – The Florence Rotary Club made a big donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. The group donated more than $11,000 to the organization.

The Rotary Club raised the funds at a “Forget Me Not” 5-K Run/Walk” event in August at SIMT in Florence. More than 225 people took part in the event.

Organizers say it all started as a way to honor fellow Rotarians in the club who have experienced Alzheimer’s, specially to honor former Rotarian Ben Ward, who last year died of Alzheimer’s disease.

Plans are already in the making for next year’s event.
