FLORENCE (WBTW) – The Florence RedWolves defeated the Fayetteville Swampdogs 6-1 in their season opener on Tuesday night at Sparrow Stadium in Florence.
Pitcher Michael Malocco struck out seven batters and got the win for Florence.
The RedWolves jumped on the board early. In the first inning, Nathan Wierzgac singled up the middle to score Reese Hampton and give the RedWolves a 1-0 lead. Kody Ruedusici drove in another run a few batters later to make the lead 2-0.
Florence is back in action tomorrow at Lexington County. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
