FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence Police Department is no longer looking for information about the owner and/or driver of a vehicle in reference to a shooting on West Liberty Street, according to an updated press release from the FPD.

The shooting happened in the 100 block of West Liberty Street on Tuesday, an original release said.

Lt. Mike Brandt, with the FPD, told News13 that officers were dispatched to a shooting into a dwelling in the 100 block of West Liberty Street just before 7 p.m. The incident happened near Mt. Sinai Holiness Church.

Officers located one victim with injuries and that person was taken to the hospital by EMS.

It’s unclear if any arrests have been made or what led to this incident.

The department sent out an updated release Wednesday afternoon that said to disregard the information regarding a vehicle. Lt. Brandt said the vehicle was located and its involvement in this incident was ruled out. As a result, we’ve removed photos of the vehicle from this article.
