FLORENCE (WBTW) – Florence Police are investigating three shootings Tuesday night and Wednesday morning that officers, at this point, don’t think are related.

According to Major Carlos Raines, they all three happened in north Florence. Maj. Raines said the third shooting wounded one man.

Raines said the first call for a shooting came in around midnight to a location in the 500 block of Brunson Street. No one was injured. He said a second call for shots fired into an apartment at 700 Oakland Avenue came in, but, again no one was hurt.

Then, a man told police he was shot by someone in a vehicle at the intersection of Oakland Avenue and Royal Street around 5:30 a.m. Raines said the victim was shot in the left shoulder and was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspected shooter was a backseat passenger in a gray car, possibly a Nissan, with Virginia license plates, according to Raines. Few details are known about the suspect(s) except to say there were four or five occupants within the vehicle and the driver reportedly has dreadlocks.

Raines said investigators are looking at each call and have not said if they think they could be related.
