FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Officers with the Florence Police Department took a man into custody after he fired his gun in the air this weekend.
Saturday afternoon Florence police arrested Gerald Vincent Williams, 30, and charged him with unlawful carrying of a pistol, felon in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in the city and resisting arrest.
Officers were called to Royal Street in Florence and located Williams, who matched the description given by the caller, Lt. Mike Brandt with Florence Police Department said.
According to Brandt, officers observed a bulge in the shape of a gun in the suspect’s pocket and after a brief struggle, two pistols were taken from Williams.
Booking records say that he is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
