FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Florence police are investigating after a disturbance call turned deadly early Friday morning.
Lt. Mike Brandt with the Florence Police Department says officers were called to the 400 block of Noble Street in Florence around 12:45 a.m. Friday in reference to a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found a man sitting inside a vehicle, wounded and unresponsive.
The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken says police are investigating the incident as a shooting homicide and identified the victim as Broderick Cortez Goodman, 30, of Florence. An autopsy will be performed Friday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Lt. Brandt says information is limited as officers are still early in the investigation.
