FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A house fire in Florence County claimed the life of a 92-year-old woman early Tuesday morning.
According to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken, the fire at 208 Wildwood Drive in Quinby killed Sarah Jordan Watts, who was the only resident of the home. The fire started around midnight, but the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, adds von Lutcken.
The incident is under investigation by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office.
