FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW)- Firefighters with the West Florence Fire Department responded to the Sleep Inn on Florence Park Drive for a reported fire Sunday afternoon.
Captain Anthony Fox says crews arrived around 2:30pm to find a fire near an AC unit and say the fire had spread in to the hotel wall. Crews say they saw heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building.
West Florence Firefighters located a fire inside the wall of the hotel building which had extended in to the roof structure.
Firefighters also assisted in the evacuation of the hotel guests and staff. There were no injuries reported.
Palmetto Rural Fire Department and Florence County EMS were also on scene.
