TIMMONSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – Florence School District Four superintendent Dr. Andre Boyd was dismissed from his position Wednesday night.

That’s according to the District Board’s Vice Chair Dock Smith.

Florence District Four is the Timmonsville attendance zone.

This action comes one day after the State Board of Education declared a State of Emergency in Brockington Elementary School and Johnson Middle School, a request that came from State Superintendent of Education Molly M. Spearman.

On Thursday afternoon, the district named Dr. Zona Jefferson as interim superintendent . She is a retired educator. No timetable was given on how long it’ll take to hire new superintendent.
