FLORENCE, SC- Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) has won a $100-thousand gift from the Florence based grant maker, Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation. Executive Director Bradley Callicott made the presentation, Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Florence Rotary Club to FDTC President Ben Dillard and College Foundation Vice President Jill Lewis.
Lewis says the gift will be used to fund merit-based scholarships for FDTC students enrolled in Allied Health courses. Lewis continued, “Over the last 15 years, Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation has given over $1.7 Million to FDTC students. Their gifts have ensured that hundreds of our students were able to stay in college and give back to their communities!”
The scholarships, which are available through the Florence-Darlington Technical College Educational Foundation, are awarded as $2,000 dollar gifts with students receiving $1,000 per semester if they maintain academic eligibility. The Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation scholarships can be used for tuition, books, uniforms, and certification fees.
“What a great day for Florence-Darlington Tech and our students,” said Dr. Dillard. “Drs. Bruce and Lee’s ongoing generosity is a great help to our College and speaks volumes about the Foundation’s legacy of supporting excellent healthcare in the Pee Dee.”-This information is from a Pres Release.
