FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man charged with attempted murder in a weekend shooting.
Maurice Durant, 37, of Lynchburg, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the shooting, according to a press release from the FCSO.
Durant was charged after a person was shot and injured Saturday night on E. Candy Lane. The victim was transported to an area hopsital by private vehicle. Injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Witnesses told deputies the shooting happened after an argument broke out during a family gathering. Deputies took Durant into custody a few hours later.
Durant was booked into the Florence County Detention Center around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, according to booking records. He was released on $10,000 bond around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
