FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – A new report ranks the Florence County Flea Markets number 7 as a must see attraction.
Despite Sunday’s heat, hundreds of people from around the Pee Dee and out state came to the flea market to see what all the talk was about.
The flea market has vendors who set up their booths that offer clothes to food to local fresh fruit
“It’s been a great honor for us to have made the list. We have a great team of staff here. We have wonderful vendors and customers that have all contributed to us being successful as a market,” said Florence County Flea Market Manager Jerry Meehan.
Meehan says nearly two to five thousand people come out each weekend.
“We have vendors from all over the state as far as Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Charleston. We have some from out of state. We even have people that come from Atlanta, Georgia to sell here on the weekends,” says Meehan.
Mina Pringle, Kya James and Kathy Jones work at Eastside Country Kitchen where everything is homemade.
“We’ve been here 8 months and business is doing well. We really enjoy being here in this location and serving home cooked breakfast and lunch,” said Pringle.
Buelah Gordon is a local florist and has been making flower arrangements for 20 years.
“This is my hobby. I make my own flowers. Whatever you want, I guarantee you I can make it, but this is what I love to do and I won’t stop doing it as long as I continue to breathe,” mentioned Gordon.
Meehan says the Florence County Flea Market was established in 1980 and their looking to expand next year.
