MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – An early morning fire in Florence County is being called “suspicious.”

According to a social media post by Howe Springs Fire Rescue, it happened around two a.m. on East Macree Terrace. That’s in the Tara Village Subdivision.

According to the post, firefighters got there within minutes and found, “significant fire involvement within the single-story dwelling.”

It took about an hour and a half to get the fire under control. The post goes on to say the fire is suspicious in nature and investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s office are looking into what happened.

Howe Springs Fire Rescue responded with three engines, a rescue and 16 crew members. The city of Florence Fire Department helped with mutual aid with engine 111 and four crew members. No injuries were reported.
