Florence County deputy involved in early-morning crash

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash early Wednesday morning that involved a Florence County sheriff’s deputy.

A viewer sent News13 a picture of the marked Florence County Sheriff’s Office patrol car, apparently on top of a bush near the Walmart on South Irby Street. The viewer’s e-mail said the picture was taken at 4:34 a.m.

Investigator Kathleen Streett with the sheriff’s office confirmed to News13 that a deputy was involved in a crash, and that the Highway Patrol was investigating.

Streett said the sheriff’s office would release more information soon.
