The Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol searched for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop on Monday evening.
Major Michael Nunn, with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies were searching for a man who fled from SCHP around 9:30 p.m. in the area of National Cemetery Road and Freedom Boulevard.
According to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the SCHP, a man was stopped for a license tag violation and a trooper discovered he was also driving on a suspended license during the traffic stop. The man ran into the woods.
Collins said on Tuesday he doesn’t know if the person has been found.
Collins also said troopers know the man’s name and other information, and that he wasn’t wanted.
