FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Coroner’s Office says the death of a 10-month-old child does not appear to be suspicious.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Wednesday regarding the death of a 10-month-old child.

According to Major Mike Nunn with the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home on Candy Lane around noon Wednesday. The child was transported to an area hospital where the baby was later pronounced dead.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken says his office is also investigating the death and he has ordered an autopsy be performed at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. The autopsy results are not expected for two to three weeks, but von Lutcken says the infant’s death is not suspicious.

Details surrounding the baby’s death are not being released at this time.
