ity council passed first reading for and ordinance for taxi drivers.
City Councilman, Robbie Hill says council passed first reading for an ordinance Monday that will adjust prices for the cab drivers.
City council members and taxi drivers say Florence is too small to operate off of a meter system so instead, passengers are charged flat rates depending on a zone that they’re traveling.
he current zoning map and prices have not been adjusted since 2003 so, council members say the move is long overdue.
Council members will hear second reading next month.
If it passes in April, new rates start immediately.
