FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Two democratic candidates will square off in a runoff for the Florence City Council District 2 seat.
According to Florence County Voter Registration and Election Board Executive Director David Alford, Pat Gibson-Hye Moore secured the most votes at 272, but not enough to get a majority. LaShonda NeSmith trailed Moore with 177 votes.
The full results are as follows, according to the county voter registration and election board:
- Pat Gibson-Hye Moore: 272 votes
- LaShonda NeSmith: 177 votes
- Alexis Pipkins, Sr.:167 votes
- Tyron Jones: 63 votes
- Gary Summerfield, Jr.: 49 votes
Of the district’s 8,186 registered voters, 728 showed up to vote on election day.
Certification is expected to take place Thursday morning. Moore and NeSmith will face off in a runoff election on June 21.
