FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Divine Destiny Family Worship Center in Florence hosted a neighborhood block party Saturday afternoon, in hopes of making the neighborhood a better place.
The block party was a community outreach event filled with a day of food, fun and fellowship.
Members of the church went to nearby houses knocking on doors, looking to bring people together.
The event offered live music, free food, and activities for kids.
Pastor Russell Nelson says he hopes this help bring their neighborhood closer.
“A lot of times young folks go to church and they think it’s boring and just a sermon and song but we want to let them know that you can have fun as a Christian. It don’t have to always be worldly things but it’s just doing things and having fun together as a family,” mentioned Nelson.
Pastor Russell Nelson says the church will hold a youth conference in September that is open to all youth in the surrounding communities.
