FLORENCE, SC – First Reliance Bank in Florence held a free luncheon for law enforcement officers on Wednesday. It took place at the bank branch on West Palmetto Street. The city of Florence declared it “Law Enforcement Officials Day.”

Members from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Florence City Police, Florence County Sheriff’s Office, and Florence Darlington Tech Department attended the luncheon. Tom Ewart, Market President for First Reliance Bank says, “Our law enforcement means so much to us and some of the things that have been going on across the country, we wanted to reach out and say thanks to them.”

Organizers said this year’s event is especially important given the recent controversies surrounding officer shootings. In total about 200 boxes of food were given out.
