LAKE CITY, SC (WBTW) – Firefighters in Lake City were called to reported warehouse fire in Lake City around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
When firefighters arrived at ICE Recycling LLC on Cedar Street, flames and heavy smoke could be seen.
Lake City Fire Chief Randy Driggers said the fire started in bales of recycled plastic.
The company turns scrap materials, fibers, plastic bottles and molded packaging into new types of plastics.
Clean up is going on right now and the fire is under control.
Driggers said there was minimal damage to the building.
