FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) Florence Police are investigating a fire that destroyed a church on Sunday morning.
According to Florence City Battalion Chief Fire Marshal Ken Car the New Life Assembly Church on Pine Street caught fire around 4:30 a.m.
Carr said a police officer called 911 after seeing flames coming from the church.
The Florence Police Department blocked off Pine St. to allow the firefighters to operate safely
and Florence County EMS was on scene to monitor the health of Firefighters.
There were no injuries to firefighters. The cause of the fire is not known and is being investigated by Florence’s joint Fire/Police investigation team.
