MARION, SC (WBTW) – Marion Rural Fire Department report 80 to 100 cars were destroyed in a fire at Case Auto Parts in Marion County Thursday evening.

According to Marion Rural Fire Department, it took numerous fire crews to get the blaze under control at Case Auto Parts, located off of West Highway 76. The department first reported the fire just before 4 p.m. Thursday, and says the fire was under control by 6:12 p.m.

Several neighboring fire crews were brought in to help put out the blaze. WindyHill Fire Rescue assisted with an engine and tanker, and the City of Marion Fire Department offered engines as well. Mullins Fire & Rescue responded with tanker 30, Temperance Hill Fire Department assisted with tanker 43, and the Dillon County Fire Department responded with a tanker and fire crew. South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted with traffic control in the area.

It is unclear at this time how the blaze originated.
