A fire at a high-rise Myrtle Beach hotel caused evacuations from rooms on Thursday evening, officials told WBTW.
The incident happened at about 6:10 pm at the Tropical Seas Hotel, causing Ocean Blvd to be closed between 28th and 29th Ave South, said Lt. Joey Crosby of the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
The fire broke out near the pool storage area, where several different chemicals are kept.
That potential danger forced fire crews to evacuate several rooms in the hotel, Crosby said.
There was no immediate report of injuries.
