HANAHAN, SC — The Hanahan Police is investigating following a fire at Michael Slager’s former home.
Authorities say the incident happened at around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, January 8, on the 1100 block of Yeamans Hall Road.
The call came in at 9:30 and once the fire department arrived they noticed the fire had already been extinguished.
We’re told by Hanahan Police Capt. Michael Fowler, one person dressed in black was seen running from the scene.
The only information the police department has on this suspicious person is that they appeared to be about 5’10 in height with a skinny build and was wearing dark clothing.
We’ve also learned the home was vacant since Slager was arrested for the shooting death of Walter Scott.
Hanahan Police say this is an active investigation and is in its early stages. There is no other information to release at this time.
