FEMA extends deadline to apply for Hurricane Florence assistance until December 5

FEMA has extended the deadline to apply for federal assistance following Hurricane Florence until December 5. 

FEMA extended the deadline for South Carolina residents to apply for federal disaster assistance until 11:59 p.m. on December 5, according to a press release from the Henry McMaster, Office of the Governor. South Carolina homeowners, renters, and business owners in Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, and Marlboro Counties “may apply for disaster assistance for losses occurring between Sept. 8, and Oct. 8, 2018 from Hurricane Florence.”

Disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration may also be available, the release said. Applicants can apply online using the Electronic Loan Application on the SBA’s website or by calling the SBA customer service center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing).
