FCSO warns parents to be on the lookout for “marijuana candy”

FLORENCE (WBTW) – Florence County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on Interstate 95 that uncovered hydroponically grown marijuana as well as candies infused with THC.  THC is the primary psychoactive constituent of marijuana.

Major Mike Nunn says these THC infused products are made to look like candy that are indistinguishable from the brand names candies they are trying to look like. According to deputies, the THC infused candies were made in Colorado where marijuana is legal, however it is not legal to possess or take these products outside Colorado.

Deputies say according to the labels, the candy contains 100mg of THC.  Florence County Sheriff’s Office are warning parents to be on the look out for these products that could be available.
