ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men, including the father of two children slain and a third in critical condition in a Wednesday morning shooting in Holly Hill.
Christopher Wright, 36, of Holly Hill, has been charged on outstanding State Law Enforcement Division two warrants for trafficking methamphetamine. OCSO detectives served those warrants on Wright Thursday as they interviewed him.
A bond hearing for Wright is tentatively scheduled at the Orangeburg County Law Enforcement Complex at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Also arrested is Robert Bailey, 35, AKA “Pockets,” of Eutawville. He has been arrested on OCSO warrants for manufacturing marijuana, possession of cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol and an outstanding traffic violation of driving under suspension by the SC Highway Patrol.
“These arrests are the indirect result of our extensive and ongoing investigation into this horrific incident,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “As I stated on Wednesday, we are not going to stop until we have any and everyone involved in custody to face this heinous crime.”
The charges against the men are unrelated to Wednesday’s multiple homicide that included Wright’s three children, Alexia Perry, 14; Shamekia Sanders, 17; and an eight-year-old male who has been taken to a secure location where he remains in critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound.
However, OCSO investigators said the charges originated after interviewing the men during separate aspects of the extensive investigation being conducted in the Holly Hill shootings.
Bailey was taken into custody late Wednesday for questioning as detectives followed leads that led to the Eutawville man’s residence where he was located with a quantity of illegal drugs, according to warrants.
The remaining relationships between 28-year-old Krystal Hutto and 50-year-old Jerome Butler have not been determined at this time. Along with the two teen girls, Sanders and Perry, both Hutto and Butler were found shot to death at the home.
Investigators said an enormous amount of evidence recovered at the Holly Hill residence is being processed, as is a fire-damaged Mercedes Benz believed to have been connected to the residence.
