AUGUSTA, GA (WBTW) Jason Pride was like many other golf fans. He had thought about getting tickets to The Masters for many years. 2016 proved to be the one he finally get to check it off his bucket list. He would also get to do so with someone special at his side
“We are sitting there having breakfast,” recalls his son Tyler. “There’s this Jordan Spieth glove, so I open the pouch and I’m like thanks Dad for the glove. Then I look down and there’s something in there, I pull it out, it’s a Masters ticket and I’m just jacked.”
Tyler tells me his dad loves to pull his leg so it took just a second for the reality of that moment to kick in.
“It’s special,” Jason said of his first visit to Augusta National Golf Club. “I’m glad honestly that I never came before I had him, before he was ready to come.”
The sights, the sounds and the lifelong memories of a moment witnessed together.
“Sharing it with him makes it what I believe is ten times better. To see his excitement and kind of see it through his eyes not just my own.”
Tyler watches this leader board today littered with names of current greats, while another , blank nearby, an easy day dream of a possible future waiting to proclaim his birdies, eagles and victories.
“A father and son walking down the fairways at a Masters it’s amazing and I am hoping 15 years from now he’s going to be caddying for me he’s going to be caddying for me on the bag so I can look back and say Hey dad remember when I was 11.”
