Williamsburg County authorities are investigating a fire death as a homicide.
Williamsburg County Fire Chief Randy Swinton says a Sunday morning fire in Kingstree was set on purpose, to cover up a murder.
Chief Swinton says 65 year-old Charles Jackson Wilson was found dead in a mobile home on Starburst Avenue on Kingstree’s North Side after the 3:30 a.m. fire early Sunday.
So far, there is no word of any arrests in the case.
It was one of two deadly fires in Kingstree in 24 hours starting on Sunday.

At around 1:30 a.m. Monday, a 32-year-old mom and her 14-month-old boy died in the bedroom of a home on Oakland Drive.
Swinton says the mother’s body was found in the child’s bedroom. The little boy was still in his crib.
Both fires are under investigation by the fire department, and sheriff’s office. SLED is also assisting in the investigation.
Wilson, who was the victim of a homicide, was born in 1950 in Kingstree, according to his obituary.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time, however they will be announced at a later date from Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, which is assisting the family.
