GEORGETOWN, SC – Saint Frances Animal Center is proud to announce its 3rd Annual Fast and Furriest 5K Run/Walk on April 23, 2016 at East Bay Park in Georgetown. This annual event is the only race in the Georgetown area that encourages participants to run or walk with their dogs. The 5K will be timed and registration is now open at http://thefastandthefurriest5k.weebly.com/. Packet pickup starts at 7:30 a.m. and will go until 8:45 a.m, the 5K is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. Awards will be given for the top 3 overall male/female finishers and the top 3 finishers in divisions. After the race we will have a festival in East Bay Park with vendors, music, food, games and a number of activities for people of all ages along with their pets.
All proceeds from the race go directly towards the care and treatment of the unwanted and homeless dogs and cats of Georgetown County. In addition to runners and walkers, Saint Frances is seeking sponsorships and vendors to participate at the festival after the race.
