FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – Timothy Jeremy Patrick Lewis graduated from West Florence High School this year and had hopes to attend Francis Marion University in August.
Lewis was shot and killed in the 800 block of West Evans Street on Wednesday, June 24th around 5:30 p.m.
Kendall Skinner is a close friend to the Lewis family and knew Lewis personally.
“Just to top it off, this is one of the worst ones, this one really hits home you know,” says Skinner.
It was Kendall Skinner’s first time taking a look down at the memorial friends put together for Timothy Lewis.
“I’ve spent a lot of time with them and it’s just crazy you know to know the out pour of support just from the community overall,” said Skinner.
Camera footage from a nearby local business on West Evans Street shows Lewis car merging into oncoming traffic.
Florence Police Chief Allen Heidler said Lewis was in a white Toyota Camry behind an apartment complex on Evans Street when he was shot. Lewis then drove the car onto West Evans Street, colliding with an SUV.
Skinner says he hopes this remind others to cherish every day of your life.
“It’s so many young people out there still trying to figure out what they want to do in life and he kind of had a plan and that plan was ended so shortly,” mentioned Skinner.
A message for the young
“I just hope that it impacts his friends you know and younger generations that are out now to stay on the right track and live life to the fullest,” says Skinner.
And it helps to smile even in the midst of sorrow.
Police have charged 17 year-old DaQuan Bostick with murder and 17 year-old Lotoryante Greene with accessory before the fact of a felony and conspiracy in the death of Lewis.
There will be a benefit at Creek Ratz of Florence to celebrate the life of Timothy Lewis with family, friends and the community. Donations received will help towards funeral expenses for the family.
