Family and friends lay North Myrtle Beach man killed in Afghanistan to rest

Friends and Family gave their final farewell to Walter Fisher on Saturday at his funeral.

The pentagon said a man in an Afghan uniform killed him and two colleagues while they worked at the Kabul airport, in Afghanistan, nearly two weeks ago.

Fisher was a private contractor.

The service started at two o’clock at the Barefoot Resort conference center. Dozens of people and veterans groups honored Fisher.

Fisher was born in North Carolina and worked for a private company out of Fayetteville.

He was buried Saturday afternoon at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens.

Family members ask you to make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or the North Carolina Tactical Officers Association in Fisher’s memory.
