- Replace your mattress every 8 years. You can check the manufactured date on the mattress tag.
- Visit several local stores, and look for stores that carry several national brands.
- Base your decision on your own feeling.
- Test a mattress with your sleeping partner.
- Take advantage of trial periods. So last more than a month and allow you to bring a mattress back after you’ve tried it.
- Consider a mattress protector that keeps out dust, sweat and other contaminants.
