Ex-boyfriend of ‘Teen Mom’ TV show star arrested on multiple charges

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The ex-boyfriend of MTV’s “Teen Mom” series star Jenelle Evans was arrested Tuesday by Horry County police.

Nathan Joseph Griffith, 29, was arrested by HCPD and charged with open container and providing false information to police.

Griffith had an outstanding warrant for his arrest by Myrtle Beach police for a domestic violence case.

According to a police report, Griffith was wanted after his current girlfriend said he choked her after getting into an argument at a local bar.

The victim told police that Griffith was at her house around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he jumped on top of her and began to choke her.  Her roommate said she heard screaming and ran into the room and saw Griffith on top of the victim.  She yelled for him to stop and to leave the apartment, the report said.

Griffith then left the apartment.

This is not the first time Griffith has been in trouble with the law. In March of 2015, Griffith was arrested after his then fiance’ Jenelle Evans claimed he pinned her to a toilet and removed her engagement ring.  Evans later dropped the charges against Griffith.

Griffith has also been arrested in the past for drunk driving and resisting arrest.
