Bras Across the Water is a Charity Event In Support of National Breast Cancer Month

All Proceeds Benefit The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – The Freedom Boat Club and “Team Freedom” will once again hold its signature charity event, “Bras-Across-The-Water.”

The event will be held at the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, kicking off the weekend with the “Hooker Party” on Friday Oct. 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where Mr. and Ms. “Bras Across The Water” will be crowned. Come decorate your bras and watch as patron’s parade around the MarshWalk.

The actual “Bras-Across-The-Water” event will take place on Saturday Oct. 22,  from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is designed to raise awareness of Breast Cancer, and to raise money for the American Cancer Society in support of Breast Cancer research. The actual event consists of Live Radio and local TV broadcasts, live bands, a shrimp & grits cook-off contest, local vendors, breast cancer awareness booths, raffles, and fun for the entire family. The bras which are collected are all attached to a rope in a “Chain of Hope.” The highlight of the event occurs when the collection of bras are literally “Strung Across the Water!”

The MarshWalk will close out the day’s activities with their “Pink Party” from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., sponsored by Ciroc Mango. Make sure you dress in your best “Pink Attire” for your chance to win an amazing prize.
