BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – An Evans Correctional Institution officer has been arrested and is accused of slapping an inmate in the face.
Correctional Officer Shataysha Quneeka Ocean was arrested on Tuesday by the South Carolina Department of Corrections Police Services, according to a press release from the SCDC. Ocean is charged with misconduct in office and assault and battery in the third degree.
Warrants obtained by News13 allege that on April 20, 2018, while employed with the SCDC, Ocean slapped a state inmate in the face with an open hand at Evans Correctional Institution.
