Enterprise Boat Landing vandalized two days after clean-up

SOCASTEE, SC-   The Keep Horry County Beautiful Committee teamed up with environmental artists to build metal sculptures and fill them with recycled materials. A sculpture of a Largemouth Bass was installed at Enterprise Boat Landing Saturday, following an organized clean-up of the area.

The fish was reportedly stolen Monday evening.

“It was just a complete downer on the whole group,” said Committee Chairman Bo Ives.

The words, “G-town Boy” and “Squad” were spray painted on the ground, fence, signs and bathroom. Ives said the sculpture was built to encourage recycling.

“We’re trying to get people’s behavior to turn in the county and here we have an example of bad behavior,” said Ives.

Diane Webb spends most of her days reading at the boat landing. Webb said the vandalism makes her angry.

” They’re not respecting the property, they’re not respecting what they have,” she said.

Enterprise is one of six boat landings in Horry County to have cameras installed. A spokesperson for Horry County Police said they’re currently reviewing footage.

“Hopefully they will get caught,” said Webb.
