MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A 77-year-old woman was the victim of a purse-snatching after shopping in a Myrtle Beach store with her husband, a report said.
According to a Myrtle Beach police incident report, it happened Thursday in the Big Lots store parking lot located on Kings Highway around 10 a.m.
The woman told police she was inside the store shopping with her husband when she was asked several times by the suspect where certain things were in the store. She said the man was polite and didn’t seem like a threat.
The woman said that she and her husband left the store and while putting items in her car trunk, the man came up from behind and took her purse.
She told police the man ran away toward the ocean.
The suspect is described as a white male, mid to late 20’s earing a plain black t-shirt and black pants. He was slender build, 5’6″-5’8″ tall and clean-shaven with dark, short hair.
The purse contained cash, credit cards and ID.
