FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Ruiz Foods recognized the efforts of a Pee Dee teacher with a “mini teacher grant” on Tuesday through its “Ruiz 4 Kids” program.
Laura Forehand teaches second grade at Royall Elementary School.
Ruiz Foods gave her a $967 mini-grant for her “engaging math minds in second grade” project.
it uses math workstations in the classroom to help students learn critical thinking and provides daily challenges.
“It enables them to work on their level, and when they’re engaged on their level, that makes my job easier because I know at that moment that their needs are being met and I’m able to go and work with other kids that may be struggling more than others,” said Forehand.
In addition to the mini-grants, “Ruiz 4 Kids” also funds scholarship programs.
