30 kids went on a back-to-school shopping trip in Florence on Thursday.
Academy Sports gave each child a $100 gift card to spend on clothes, shoes, and backpacks.
The children are from the “Camp Pee Dee Pride” program, which is sponsored by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
“I picked out two Adidas jackets, a set of pink Converse and I got like a couple of shirts to match,” 10-year-old Taleah Smith says.
Academy Sports says this is the 9th year its brought this program to its stores across the country.
