DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) -Trinity United Methodist Church held a back-to-school bash for students Sunday afternoon.
The event was filled with games, music, unlimited snow-cones, raffles, and even a bouncy-house.
Lara Mathis helped organize the event for the Darlington students, and said it’s the first year the church has held the event.
“We’ve got games kids can play, and win prizes that includes school supplies and candy,” she said.
Mathis said it’s important to give the students a fun day before school starts back again.
“Make sure they have some fun, and have some school supplies,” said Mathis. “Let them know that the church is here for them, and here to support them.”
Mathis’ son, Levi, will start third grade soon, and said he’s excited for the new school year.
“You get to learn, and you get to have recess,” he said. “And fun activities that you love at school.”
Darlington students will head back to the classroom on Monday Aug. 20.
