NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – As the Masters wraps up in Augusta, several celebrities and golf pros make their way to the Grand Strand for the annual Monday After the Masters event.
Sunday, crews at the Dye Course at Barefoot Landing Resort in North Myrtle Beach worked hard to prepare the course for Monday’s event.
Dye Course Head Golf Pro Jeff Diel says Sterling Sharpe, Andre Reed, Darius Rucker, and several other celebrities took a few practice rounds Sunday to prepare.
This is the twenty-second year of the tournament and the fourteenth straight year it’s been hosted at the Dye Club at Barefoot. Resort.
“It just goes so well for the golf industry, as well as the tourist industry at the beach, the beach community, and the hotel owners that have properties here. I think it’s great for everybody,” said Diehl.
Tickets for the event are sold out, and all money raised goes to the Hootie Foundation, a charity founded by Hootie and the Blowfish. The money is distributed to junior golf programs in South Carolina.
