DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – A Little River man and Sumter woman were arrested after Darlington County deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the Wachovia Hills neighborhood.

According to Sheriff Byrd, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the Wachovia Hills subdivision in Darlington Friday. When deputies arrived, they found a pickup truck with a four wheeler on the back of it in the yard of one of the homes.

Deputies also saw the suspects attempting to load a red utility trailer onto another 5×10 utility trailer. In addition, a third trailer was nearby, loaded with a Red Snapper riding lawn mower and other lawn equipment. In all, the deputies were able to recover, a four wheeler, three utility trailers, a riding lawnmower and a variety of yard work equipment, says Sheriff Byrd.

Deputies arrested Shawn Wesley Stancliff, 36, of Little River, and Tracey Lyn Valladares, 35, of Sumter, on charges of burglary third degree, grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal conspiracy.
