GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – A month-long drug investigation in Georgetown resulted in the arrests of two people, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit and officers with the Georgetown City Police Department concluded the investigation Thursday, arresting two people. Agents developed information and received subsequent citizen complaints, that Janena Jametta Gamble, 20, was selling drugs from an apartment in the 300 block of St. James Street in Georgetown.
An investigation was initiated, which ended Thursday with Gamble being stopped on Orange Street in Georgetown. At the time of the stop, Tajha Soplato Anderson, 20, fled from the vehicle and Gamble attempted to dispose of a large amount of heroin, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
Gamble was arrested, as was Anderson, who was located a short distance away. In addition to the heroin, agents discovered crack cocaine, a lot of cash, a digital scale, packaging materials and an open container of beer inside Gamble’s vehicle.
A subsequent search of Gamble’s apartment on St. James revealed a 12-gauge shotgun and a large amount of ammunition, methadone, packaging materials and a digital scale, the release states. Agents also found a surveillance system had been installed that would alert Gamble to anyone outside the building or accessing the steps to the apartment.
Gamble, who is out on bond for other drug and weapons-related offenses, has been charged with; PWID heroin, PWID cocaine base, driving under suspension 2nd offense and open container in a motor vehicle.
Anderson was charged with an active warrant for common law robbery.
