BLACKSBURG, SC – A Blacksburg woman was arrested Thursday morning after investigators say she got into a school bus and assaulted the driver while drunk.
26-year-old Gabriele Ruth Privitera was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery, Interfering with the Operation of a School Bus, Public Disorderly Conduct, Threatening Life of a Public Employee, and Trespassing.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Privitera got on to the bus when it stopped to pick up children around 7am on Old Buffalo Church Road. Deputies say she began cursing at and poking the driver.
Investigators say Privitera was drunk and was upset because kids had been picking on her child.
Sheriff Steve Mueller said of the incident, “It is sad that the bus load of children had to see this mother get stupid in front of them and hear the language she used during her unlawfully boarding of the school bus.”
